Favorite Patterns & Featured Fabrics

The results are in!  Linda W is the winner of our monthly FaceBook contest.  The theme of the May contest was to share your favorite pattern and number of times you have made it!  We loved seeing all of the great patterns.  Thank you for participating and sharing!

Here is your favorite pattern list in no particular order:

We were able to find most of these patterns still in print, free, or in vintage shops.  If you would like us to order any of them we are happy to track them down for you. If they are no longer in print, we can help you find a location where you might be able to purchase them second hand.   Thanks again for participating, we look forward to the June contest which will begin June 1st and run through the June 15th.
Featured Fabrics....
Spring Chicken from Moda Fabrics has arrived!  This collection by Sweetwater came about as they were sitting around the kitchen table looking through magazines for inspiration. One of them spotted "Spring Chicken" and they all laughed. As time went on, this phrase stuck in their heads. They quickly sketched out a cute little chicken and there was the theme! Spring chicken is filled with light, bright colors, an adorable flower and perfect gingham. This collection is a welcome breath of fresh air!
Whiskers and Dash is  Sarah Golden's newest collection for Andover Fabrics.  This fun collection features kitties and textural line-work in a range of  colors that can easily be incorporated into any project.
It is never too early to begin working on those Halloween projects.  FreeSpirit Fabrics brings us the Boolicious line designed by Maude Asbury.   I will definitely be making my Grandson a Trick-or-Treat bag from this line for Halloween this year.

Tip of the Week

Affinity For Quilts Tip of the Week:  When sewing triangles to squares start by aligning the square corners of the triangle and square.  The points of the triangle will extend beyond the other end of the square by approximately 3/8", not the 1/4" as you might expect.  This is necessary in order to create enough allowance for the next seam.
