Time to Shop Hop! Over the River and through the Woods!

The Over The River And Through The Woods Holiday Shop Hop is currently going on and we have enjoyed meetings some great new quilters.   Affinity For Quilts is the over the river shop; however, if you would like a drive through the woods stop in, grab a passport, and enjoy the seven shops in Wisconsin.  All of the participating shops are listed in the Events page of our website.  

The Downtown White Bear Lake Holiday Open House was a fun evening!  Thank you to everyone who stopped in during the event and congratulations to our winners:  Julie K, Diane C, and Laurie B.   

Thanksgiving will be upon us before we know it.  I can't believe it is already next week!  With the upcoming holiday there will be a few changes in our store hours.
  • November 24th - 9:00am - 3:00pm
  • November 25th - Closed 
  • November 26th - We will re-open at 9:00am till 8:00pm for our Black Friday event.

Of course our website is open 24/7 : )

We have some fun new things to share with all of you this week!
The bright and fun quilt sample is called Cozy Cabin.  This is a fat quarter friendly pattern that combines the classic log cabin and star elements to create a modern design.  The quilt measures 60" x 60" and kits are available for $74.99.
Nocturnal by Gingiber for Moda Fabrics is a collection of fabric that exhibits the world that comes alive after the sun sets.  Owls, foxes, and other woodland creatures playing under constellations, stars and crescent moons.  In this collection you will also find floral patterns and colors like navy, peach, salmon, grey, dijon yellow, teal green, black and white. 
Black and white is always a great combination, but when you pair that with shades of purple you have a hit.  Clothworks did exactly that with the Purple Reign collection.  
We saved the best for last; the new Tula Pink collection is in the house!  Daydreamer from FreeSpirit Fabrics was designed by Tula during the shelter in place order in her state and she did what she does best and imagined herself in another place, in another world, and drew everything she saw while there.  Daydreamer is that escape to a surreal place of make believe and wonder.  
If you are unable find an item you are looking for, talk to any team member,  email us or call us and we will do our best to order it for you.
Classroom Space
Our classroom space is currently open.  If your group would like a place to meet please contact Affinity For Quilts at 651-429-1039.  Evening meetings can also be arranged if staff is available. 

COVID-19
COVID cases continue to rise in Minnesota.  We are requesting that all customers wear a mask, vaccinated or not.  Let's all do our part to put an end to this pandemic.  Affinity For Quilts staff will be wearing masks for your protection, as well as ours you are always welcome to shop online if that is more comfortable for you

Bad Weather Store Closure Policy
While we strive not to close the shop sometimes mother nature has other ideas and we have to make the decision to close for everyone's safety.  This is just a reminder of the store closure policy here at Affinity For Quilts. 
  1. We will post any notifications on Facebook.
  2. An e-mail will be sent to everyone who is a current subscriber on our list. 
  3. Our website calendar will be update.
  4. If the weather is questionable and you are unsure if the shop is open please call before heading out.
 
Tip of the Week
Affinity For Quilts Tip of the Week:  Create a fabric key for your quilt projects.  What is a fabric key?  It is a guide using your  pattern for the fabrics needed in your quilt.   Go through your stash, place your samples of fabric on the fabric key, and then visit your local quilt shop to purchase any additional fabrics needed to complete your next  quilt project.  We have created a Quilters Key that you can easily print to get you started!
